On January 21, 2024, in the presence of the President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Nadhim S. Jacksi, along with the university vice presidents, deans, department heads, professors, staff, and students, participated in the demonstration held in Zakho under the slogan "Kurdistan, the land where civilization emerged, will not be destroyed by any attacks." The demonstration took place in Zakho, protesting against the deadly ballistic missile attack by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Erbil.

The university conveyed a message of peace by raising the sacred flag of Kurdistan and stated: "Killing the innocent and destroying their homes by ruthless men is as easy as water, but it has always been extremely challenging among believers."

Throughout the Kurdish people's history, the Kurdish nation has been the victim of repressive governments and tyrants. Various regimes have aggressively attacked and persecuted the Kurds, suppressing their identity and rights. Still, the Kurdish nation has persevered in the face of these difficulties, fending off efforts to eradicate their culture and history.

Salute to the souls of Kurdish martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of the Kurdish nation. Long live Kurdistan, immortality to the martyrs, and destruction to the enemies.
